Cruise # 94- “Western Mediterranean Cruise” Onboard “Viking Vesta”- May, 2026

Cruise Expert Shawn Power sailed on Viking Vesta
**Click/Tap Image to expand** “Viking Vesta” can accommodate 998 guests onboard & she’s an Adults-Only ship where you have to be 18 or older to sail on her.

For Cruise # 94, I sailed for 7 nights on Viking Ocean Cruise’s “Viking Vesta” ship in the Western Mediterranean exploring places like Rome, Florence/Pisa, Southern France, Barcelona, etc.

Now, I’d be very surprised if you’ve never heard of Viking River Cruises since they’re very well known/almost everyone who is interested in travel has been marketed to by Viking for their river cruises.

With that said, many people I come across don’t realize Viking operates Ocean Cruises as well which only started around 10 years ago.

And, even though as mentioned on my site & in many of my videos, I don’t book many Viking River Cruises for my clients since Tauck River Cruises are the top-rated river cruises in Europe…

I do book a LOT of Viking Ocean Cruises for my clients as when they launched that part of their company 10 years ago they decided to focus more on quality over quantity, instead of quantity over quality like on their river cruises, so Viking Ocean Cruises are very highly rated!

Who is a Viking Ocean Cruise For??

As I talk about below, in my opinion, Viking is perfect for those who are tired of the big cruise ship experience (Or maybe it’s their first cruise & they NEVER want to know what a ship with 1,000s onboard is like!) so Viking’s ships with under 1,000 guests appeals to them and they like the idea of Adult-Only ships that offer them an immersive destination experience with all the basics included in their price and they want a consistent experience no matter what Viking ship they’re on or where in the World they are!

Before I start showing you around “Viking Vesta”, I wanted to share this video with you since it’s a VERY popular topic… “How to get the best deal on your Viking Cruise”make sure to watch this before booking your Viking Cruise & learn how when booking with me I’ll be able to add $100s of FREE onboard spending money to your room… and, learn 2 other big “getting the best deal” tips!

Alright, before I show you the rooms you can stay in on “Viking Vesta” as well as some of the food & drinks you can enjoy, let’s have an “Overview” look at this Beautiful Scandinavian-design ship that features only rooms with private verandas and an infinity pool which all allow you to truly experience and enjoy the destinations you’re traveling far to explore!

Not a bad looking ship, right! 😉

To me, it’s a “timeless” design that will stay in style for the decades of cruising I plan to do… so it makes sense Viking builds all their ships the same… easy to navigate as you go from ship to ship due to their consistency!

Now that you’ve gotten a feel for what a Viking Ocean Cruise is like, let’s look at the rooms you can stay in onboard.

FYI, Viking’s Ocean Cruises consistently sell out faster than any other Cruise supplier I work with… my clients are super surprised again & again when trying to book a Viking Cruise 1-2+ years out only to find out their sailing is sold out or doesn’t have rooms left that they’re interested in.

So, no matter the room you choose below, I encourage you to plan your sailings with Viking early so you can get the room type & location you want!

If you visit here, you’ll see “Viking Vesta” has rooms onboard as big as 808-1,215 sq feet (Their “Explorer Suites”) & their biggest room onboard, a 1,448 sq foot “Owner’s Suite”… if you’re not booking years out though, these 2 types of rooms are often sold out!

With that said, even their most popular rooms that I mostly book for my clients (I have videos on all them below) book up fast, so let me know sooner than later what ship/date/room you’re interested in so I don’t need to disappoint you with the news that’s it’s not availbale or, if it is, not in a good location!

This video shows you what a 432 sq foot “Penthouse Jr Suite” is like on “Viking Vesta”… this is a very popular room with my clients since it’s the lowest priced room with double sinks, it has a “separation curtain” to give your room a more spacious feel and… most importantly… you get 3 reservations per restaurant at the specialty dining restaurants (As mentioned in my food video below, super important!) and you get to book those reservations before Penthouse Veranda & Deluxe Veranda & Veranda rooms so you’ll get the better times plus you’ll get to book your shore excursions before all those rooms which allows you to get the excursions & times you want!

This video shows you what a 360 sq foot “Penthouse Veranda” is like on “Viking Vesta”… this is another very popular room with my clients since when they book this room you get 2 reservations per restaurant at the specialty dining restaurants (As mentioned in my food video below, super important!) and you get to book those reservations before Deluxe Veranda & Veranda rooms so you’ll get better times than those rooms plus you’ll get to book your shore excursions before those rooms which allows you to have a better chance of getting the excursions & times you want!

This video shows you what a 288 sq foot “Deluxe Veranda Stateroom is like on “Viking Vesta”… this room is pretty much the least my clients book as without it you can’t book specialty dining pre-cruise so you’re stuck with the leftover times once onboard and you’re the last to book excursions, so this room gets you ahead of the “Veranda Staterooms” when it comes to choosing excursions and it gets you 1 reservation per restaurant at the specialty dining restaurants.

I don’t know about you but, at least for me, when I take a Cruise… after figuring out what room I’m staying in… I want to know what I’m going to eat once onboard!! 🙂

This video shows you what some of the food is like onboard & in there I re-iterate that how many reservations you get at the specialty dining restaurants depends on the type of room you book.

One item I left out of my food video was room service… even though many of the “big ship” lines are charging for room service these days, Viking doesn’t which is a nice inclusion! 😀

This picture gives you an idea of what you can order from the comfort of your domain when onboard a Viking Ocean Cruise.

After food, let’s talk drinks… as per this video (Which shows you drink menus), a lot of people upgrade to Viking’s “Silver Spirits Package” since the included wine can be pretty basic and Viking doesn’t include hard liquor, etc. And, my FREE onboard spending money can go towards that so why not! 😉

Well, that was a pretty thorough look at Viking’s “Viking Vesta” ship  but let me throw in 2 last pictures that I get questions about often.

Laundry… Yes, you can do self-service laundry onboard a Viking Ocean Cruise ship for no charge but many times my clients want to know how much it is to have Viking do your laundry for them since they simply don’t want to do “chores” while on Vacations. Which of course, I can’t blame them! 😀

Below shows you what the prices are like and, YES, the $100s in FREE onboard spending money I add to your booking can go towards items like this! 😀

Earlier in my “How to get the Best Deal” video I said to book your next Viking Cruise onboard your current Viking Cruise as that unlocks a discount, and onboard credit, that you can’t access when booking off the ship. (Plus, it combines with Viking’s current promos + my FREE onboard spending money!)  And I want to re-iterate that here, so make sure to look for a sign like this when you’re onboard a Viking Cruise and are ready to book your next sailing!

Now that you’ve checked out the Beautiful “Viking Vesta” Cruise ship, my guess is you’re curious what the ports were like that I visited… am I correct? 😉

If so, here’s a video of my Shore Excursions highlights from each port… and in there, I explain how Viking includes basic excursions in their cruise prices but anything beyond that you need to pay for.

Speaking of what’s included and what’s not included on a Viking Ocean Cruise, I do my best to explain that here.

Well, there you go, I hope you enjoyed checking out my “Viking Vesta” photo & video gallery and I hope it helped you prepare for your own Viking Cruise!!
